in my chapter we let the littles pick their bigs... each girl makes a list of the top 5 active members they would want as their big. The new member educator then makes sure there aren't any doubling up (our pc's are usually small so twins isn't really ever an option) and notifies the bigs. so the littles have basically complete control which makes for better pairing :) plus our new members wait until about half-way through the semester to pick bigs so they have time to get to know girls :)
